The big news of the morning was unquestionably the announcement of that new speed record achieved the previous evening by Charlotte Consorti. The course videos were thoroughly checked over on Wednesday nigh and the official announcement came this morning. That meant Consorti officially broke her own record at the same time with 33.47 knots !!!
As for todays competition, it was ladies first with the conclusion of the womens freestyle contest. This discipline requires loads of technique combined with great agility. The girl with most to offer today was young French rider Claudine Podvin who took first place ahead of Brit Kirsty Jones. After the womens International Air Challenge, time for the men to tackle another round of the new discipline, Kite Cross. With a gusty wind the riders had to battle hard for the winners cash prize. At the end of it all it was newcomer Adrien Joujou who took the honours ahead of Reny Branco and Ricardo Rodriguez, a French 1-2-3. In the womens Kite Cross, youngsters Helene Bqarriere and Anais Leroux gave France a home 1-2.
